Installed a new plug and play Monitor, I dont think it has anything to do
with it but.. then I noticed my music sounded tinny from the speakers and
noticed that the subwoofer was quiet. Went to control panel, sound and
noticed that I had two out put devices one named speakers the other Realtek
Digital Output, went to properties and disabled the speakers (thinking that I
would be able then to enable them again) they disapeared never to be seen
again, how on earth do I get them back, Ive been on this for over a week now
...... please help. Bev

Right click on the Playback Devices window and select Show Disabled Devices

Did you set Speakers as the Default Device for playback?

I ended up plugging the speakers into the socket at the front of the PC and
said I'd plugged in a headphone to get them working ! because when I plugged
them into the back I had to tell it if it was 'line in, mic in, headphone,
font speaker out, rear speaker out, centre, subwoofer out, or side speaker
out', I just have l/r speakers and a little subwoofer that all attach to the
one jack, so I've re-plugged it into the back again and said it was a
headphone ! and it works ! ! AND made it my default. Thanks again Cal Bear
66, you help was invaluable. Bev
