I ended up plugging the speakers into the socket at the front of the PC and
said I'd plugged in a headphone to get them working ! because when I plugged
them into the back I had to tell it if it was 'line in, mic in, headphone,
font speaker out, rear speaker out, centre, subwoofer out, or side speaker
out', I just have l/r speakers and a little subwoofer that all attach to the
one jack, so I've re-plugged it into the back again and said it was a
headphone ! and it works ! ! AND made it my default. Thanks again Cal Bear
66, you help was invaluable. Bev
