Hi, can you help with a strange request ? I need to
source a mouse that DOESN'T make a click sound when you
press the left or right mouse bottom. I work in
broadcasting and the mouse clicks are being picked up by
the microphones while on air, and our listeners are
complaining. I have been asked to source an optical mouse
that doesn't make a click noise when buttons are pressed,
and preferably in Black. I have searched the internet and
to date have found nothing suitable. Any Ideas ?

Don't worry about the color, paint can be applied to
anything made of plastic. See Yoshi's modes on TechTV
www.techtv.com/thescreensavers for mouse modes.
I'm guessing that the clicker can be removed from most
mice/trackballs.
Short of trying all you can find on store shelves, if you
have an old mouse, take it apart and see if the click is an
added part.

The Clique Clidepoint mice never produced a "click" sound. I do not know if
they are still available.

You may also want to check on the sound scheme in Windows. There may be a
sounf event assosiated to a click feature.
