No, Word is not (legally) available for download anywhere. If you need more
Office apps than just Word and are a student, you may find that Office
Standard for Students and Teachers is your best bet. Otherwise, get Works
Suite 2005, which includes Word 2002 and several other useful programs (see
http://www.microsoft.com/products/wo...s.aspx?pid=001). Given
current street prices and the $20 mail-in rebate in effect, you can acquire
it for well under $75.

You can buy it. You can download a trial version that will expire soon but
are probably better off purchasing either Works Suite or Office for Students
and Teachers (if you qualify).

You might want to have a look here:
www.openoffice.org - it's a free Office package that will more than
adequately cope with most home user's requirements. It's also compatible
with MS Office formats and it's *FREE* !

If it has an "X" in the name, it must be Linux?
Please don't thank me in advance. Thank me afterwards if it works or
hit me in the face if it doesn't. ;-)
