They are saved in the temp folder of Outlook. To locate it on your system

When you know you are going to edit an attachment instead of just viewing
it, it would be best to save it first, and then open it from that location
to edit it. Otherwise it is easy to forget to save it to another folder and
you'd be storing it in the temp location.
