how do i get linked task column to show contact data

I have inserted columns into the tasks folder, and have added a particular
task to a contact, but the column fields inserted into the task folder do not
show the contacts details (i.e. under Contacts I have Home Phone Number
555-5555, but this doesn't show in the Home Phone Number column on the Task
folder, even though the contact has been added to the task)
