How do I get the index in an insert?

I have a numerical indexer in a table. How do I get the new index field
value when inserting a new record when using OleDbCommand?

(I found the answer in another group. See @@IDENTITY and SCOPE_IDENTITY() in
Books Online for SQL Server.)
