I have set up Outlook to open in the Inbox on start up. AS a result, i
cannot ever open the main Outlook screen, with (for example) the View menu.
How do I get from Inbox to the main Outlook screen?

What "main" Outlook screen do you mean? Are you speaking of "Outlook
Today"? Just click the root of your data store or enable the Advanced
toolbar and click the "Outlook Today" icon.

version of outlook? Do you have any toolbars? Does CTRL +2 (or any number)
change the look so you see the view you expect?

Thank you. But iti didn't solve my problem, as the Outlook Today screen
(which I opened using your advice) doesn't have a View or a Go menu. What I
am actually trying to get to is to access my archive folders, which seem to
hav gone "invisble" and according to "Help" I need to open the Go menu and
find my folder list. Perhaps you know how to do this?

View and Go appear on any screen containing a menu bar. Perhaps you've
removed them. Right-click the menu/toolbar area and choose Customize.

Have you opened the archive PST?
