I am designing a page for someone that uses a variety of suppliers. They
would like to list all the logos of those suppliers and then when the reader
clicks on the graphic - it will go to a hyperlink that opens within our same
website. The idea is that their info with toll-free number, etc. is still
showing while they look at the supplier website.
Is that clear? Hard to explain.....

Use Frames or Inline Frames.

For Frames:

Create a Frameset page (File, New, More Page Templates, Frame Pages). have
the navigation (links) in one frame and then the content in another. Give
the content frame a name and then when you create the hyperlink choose
Target Frame and select the name of the frame you want it to appear in.

For Inline Frames

Choose, Insert, Inline Frame. Give that frame a name and then target the
links to open in that frame window.

Those 2 will do what you describe but personally I don't like either of
those ideas Frames are a nuisance to work with. I'd rather have the new
site come up in a pop up window. It's cleaner. If you want to do pop ups
you can get the free Spawn add-in at

Thanks David - You started me along the right path. I wondered about frames
and was glad you steered me - I understand what your saying about cleaner to
open in a new window but the client is happy with this look - so that works
for me! Thanks again for giving your response so generously.

Hi There David

Dori Here.

Just want some more advice, if you wouldn't mind, on the Frames thing. I'm
revamping my own website and the left navigation will, over time be updated
and added to. I've put in an in-line frame on my design shell and now
realise that I think I've made a booboo.... if I click on the link on the
left in the inline frame, well, the content on the right doesn't change does
it! So I've made a mistake haven't I? Should I have set up a Frameset
instead? As I need the content on the right to reflect what's been clicked
on on the left navigation, I figured frames would be the go as the links
would be added to and rather than manually updating each web page I thought
the inline frame would be the easiest way to go??????

Am I making sense David??? If I'm not, I'm not surprised as it's coming up
for 11.45pm (EST Australia) and it's way past my bed time so I'll bid you a
goodnight and hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks for your time and help.

Dori
(www.ezytemplates4you.com - haven't launched the revamped one yet - still
the old style!)
