Dear Bara
We don't have any control menu in MS-Word. We only have a control toolbar.
You can find it here:
View> Toolbars> Control toolbox

I've been using Word for Windows since version 2.0, and I never saw a
menu called "document control". Do you mean the File menu? What items
are on the missing menu?

Are you referring to the "control menu" in the upper left corner?? The
one you can open when you press Alt + Space for the application or Alt
+ Hyphen for the document (child) window?

If that's the case then to see the control menu for the document
window you need to turn off the "Windows in the taskbar" under
Tools/Options/View.

The Control Toolbox is an entirely different thing: a palette of ActiveX
controls used for building UserForms.
