Type m3/s. Select the 3. Press the Ctrl, Shift, and = keys all at
the same time, which is the shortcut for applying the Superscript
character format. (Or you can right-click the 3, select Font, and
check the Superscript box in the dialog.)

If you expect to use this often, you can make it into an AutoCorrect
entry.

To get the *³, hold down the Alt key and type 0179 on the numeric keypad.
0178 will give you ²
