I'm using XP Professional and have an ATI AIW 9600 Pro video card installed
on an Intel 865PERL motherboard. This is supposed to be a 4x/8x slot but
PerformanceIndex V1.0 reports it as 4x. How do I change the setting to 8x?
There doesn't seem to be a bios setting for this.

Thanks

Do you have the manual for your motherboard.... there is probably a jumper
setting that must be changed.

Thanks for the reply but I do have the manula and the only jumper setting
is for BIOS configuration.

You may have to tunnel into the BIOS to find a setting, but
more likely, you need to check the BIOS on the graphics card
or the display properties.

Have you checked Intel.com for all driver updates and did
you install all the Intel drivers?

What is PerformanceIndex???
Go to Display Properties > Advanced > Smartgart - see if it is set to 8x.
Also do you have the latest Catalyst drivers installed? A better source for
help would be the NG periphs.videocards.ati.
