How do I format a Linux drive as Windows drive?

I have added an external drive to my PC. However, this drive has been
formatted under Linux and I cannot see it from Windows Explorer in order to
format it for Windows. How do I "see" this drive and what do I need to format
it? I am running Windows XP SP2.

Many thanks,

Try running Disk Management and see if you can delete the partition from
there.

You will probably need to use Linux to delete the existing partition,
or some third party partitioning software such as Partition Magic or
Boot It Next Generation (www.bootitng.com)

Then create a new partition FAT32 or NTFS partition using the third
party partitioning program or Disk Management in Windows XP; and then
format the partition to prepare it for use.

Good luck
