You can always request a delivery receipt, but even in an Exchange
environment a Read Receipt (or lack thereof) is no guarantee that the
message was or wasn't read. Even a delivery receipt (or, again, lack of)
doesn't mean much more than the server that is responsible for the domain
accepted responsibility for the message.

No. Also, in Exchange, doesn't it always ask the person at the other end if
they want to send it or not?
