Computer was logged out? What computer? How could you be composing an
e-mail and be logged out due to inactivity, or for that matter, how
could you "send it" if you were logged off?

Hello,
Try microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
for your e-mail problem. If using OutlookExpress.
On the disconnect by ISP there are some programs, don't know if they are
worthwhile.

At one time I use several such programs, had fair success with the
disconnect problem.
If using a 56k modem open OutlookExpress/tools/options - general tab - place
a check in "check for new message" box and change time to ten minutes. Keep
OutlookExpress open (minimized) even if not using program.
take care.
beamish.

Why ask HERE? XP has NO native Email capabilites and as such your
post is out of place HERE.

Ask elsewhere

What program were you using to compose your e-mail?
