How do I find my Restore Points?

Hi,

Last month I bought a new computer, A Dell Dimension 3100 Series
running Win XP Pro. When I try to find my Restore Points I only get
the option to Create a new Restore Point or Return to an automatically
created one. I don't get the option of being able to look at my
Restore Points.

Also, how do I find Event Viewer?

Thank you. XP is new to me. I have Win2K on my old computer.

Any advice will be most appreciated.

Gail

You cannot see the contents of restore points. You can only see their
date and time of creation. When you create a restore point on your own
you can give it a more descriptive title.

Lots of ways to find Event Viewer (for example, through the Help and
Support Center), so here's one way:

Start > Run > type: eventvwr.msc > OK

Hi Gail,

The following web page will step you through the process of using System
Restore.

All About System Restore in WinXP

If you are not seeing any bold dates in the SR calendar, let us know.

But I don't want to see their contents - I just want to see the dates
and times and descriptions!

Thank you, Bert. I may not have time to get to this today but I will
tell you that the only bold dates I saw in the calendar yesterday
while experimenting were the automatically created ones.
