When I switched my laptop on and went into Outlook 2003 it went to
configure/set up wizard as if first time new PC install (which it wasn't). I
configured any way and set up and email in and out now working fine BUT I
have 'lost' all my contacts and saved emails and email folders. HELP! and why
did it do this ? I have searched programme files and 'find' but surely
contacts and old email folders are stored somehwere or has new set up wiped
them all?

Search for *.pst - in the address bar of windows explorer, paste
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
to open to the default location for the file.

Sorry I am new to this posting thing and unsure if this is how I reply to
you or not so hope it works. I appreciate your speedy response very much. I
have done what you said and got the Outlook box up and *psn up. What do I do
now to reinstate contacts and email folders ‘lost’? If I click to open it
doesn’t work – it says ‘open with’ and if I click ‘use web to find
appropriate programme’ it takes me to MS webpage but I really don’t know what
I’m looking for. Your help is much appreciated.
