I'm trying to export my windows live hotmail into office xp professional
version 2002, but it's not working.

You can't export hotmail to outlook because there is no such things.
However, if you meant you want to use your hotmail account in Outlook then
this also is not possible because you don't have the correct systems
requirement for Outlook Connector 12.1.

Microsoft Office Outlook Connector 12.1 downloads only works with the
following Office programs:
* 2007 Microsoft Office system
* Microsoft Office 2003
* Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
* Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

Therefore your office xp professional version 2002 (whatever this may be)
needs to be upgraded to Office 2007 and/or Office 2010. If you buy and
activate your Office 2007 by September 2010, you would qualify for a free
upgrade to Office 2010 (download version) or for a small fee to cover the
cost of shipping of new CD/DVD for Office 2010.

However, there is another option for you to try and you may be able to use
your hotmail account with it. I must emphasize that Although I am able to
use Windows Live Mail on my system, I am not sure whether this is because I
also have Office 2003 and Office 2007 on the same system. Therefore, you
could download WLM from here and see if it works for you:

Configure Outlook 2002 to access you Live mailbox using a POP account and you
can download it all. See

Be sure to set the option to leave copies of messages on the server or Outlook
will pull them all off and delete them.

FYI: Windows Live Mail will work completely independent from Outlook, so it
will indeed also work when you have Outlook 2002 installed or no Outlook
version at all. All you really need to have is a supported version of
Windows and you're set. You can even use WLM for accounts other than Hotmail
accounts.
