My goal is to export my contact list from the desktop to my new laptop. This
is the first time I have attempted this effort. Defintely not tech savy so
all the basics in terms of directions will be greatly appreciated. Just so
we are clear I want my contacts on the desktop to still be there after this
effort. I just need to add them to my laptop.

If you desire explicit directions, what version of Microsoft Outlook you are
using?

Copy the .pst file to the laptop, open it inside Outlook and copy the
contents of the Contact folder of the copied PST file into your Default
Contacts folder.
