Ask your question in the body of the message, being sure to state the
Outlook version and account type(s) as well.

Outlook can't do that by itself. You need an add-in to do it. Google
should help you find one, or you can start here:

I have a simple question - my machine presently has Outlook Express but I am
getting ready to install Office 2003. what will happen to my current emails,
contacts, etc? Will they be automatically added to the new Outlook?

No they won't. You need to EXPORT your mail from Outlook Express to Outlook,
as this retains the Modified date, and you need to IMPORT your address book
in Outlook from Outlook Express.

Nothing.

Outlook should detect the OE account when you start it the first time and
ask if you want to import it. This is fine. I don't believe it will ask
about the OE contact or mail data, though. It's easy enough to import the
contact data in Outlook with File>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail and
Addresses. Import only the contacts. Don't import the mail. As Gordon
says, it's best if you export your mail from within OE.
