I know that sometimes when you see a video or play a music file on the
internet, there is a copy of it left behind in your temporary files. Does
the same type of thing happen when you play a movie from a DVD or music from
a CD? Is there anything left behind in a "temporary" file or cache file? If
so, where can I find it? Can it be saved or deleted?
Thanks.

Thanks. OK, just to make sure that I understand how this actually works:

What you see or hear coming from the computer is information being read
directly from the disc and not a copy loaded into a temporary cache?

MANY media player applications access an online database for CD
information like (not limited to) album title, artist name and track
names (as that information is NOT on a standard music CD - only an ID
number). The information is normally cached on the hard drive.
