I have been asked to take over a webpage to manage by my club. The guy who
did it is not available. How do I get the web page to frontpage 2003?

first create a folder for it to reside in (either on your machine's local
server or in your file system).
then in FrontPage hit file/ open site. in the open site dialog box type the
http:// address of the site you're taking over. give it the user name and
password.

when it's open, hit file/ publish site and then browse to the folder you
created in step 1. Publish the site into that folder.

that's the best way to go.

Try, File>Import>From Site

Enter your host, login, password and it should import all of you files that
are on your site. You may have to set up you navigation againg though.

Never import. Always "Publish."
Import only gets what you "see."

I don't know about that.
the import web wizard is an often maligned and misunderstood tool.
It's great for getting as much of a site as you can _without_ log-in
credentials.

besides the obvious nefarious uses of it, it's helpful when the previous
webmaster has disappeared and the server UN/PW can't be had.

The way I do it is: Open up the page you want to edit, in Internet Explorer,
in the File menu, go down to 'Edit with Microsoft Front Page'. This then
should open up your page in F/P for you to edit.

You could always contact the web host or the account owner could.

It's almost as useful as File Save As in Browser (-;
- which is what it does (for each linked page)
