The mouse pointer while over the reading pane in Outlook 2007 now looks like
a hand (instead of a text select cursor) and allows you to scroll the window
contents. How do I disable this mode?

Do you have Adobe Acrobat 8.1 or Acrobat Reader 8.1 installed and are you
previewing a PDF attachment?

Hi Brian. thanks for your response.

Yes, Adobe 8.1.0 is installed, but I am not previewing PDFs. These are
normal emails in the reading pane which is opened by double clicking on an
email within a folder. ie the Inbox.

Hm. Can't reproduce. Perhaps someone else will have something to add.

On the scroll bar in the reading pane, click the hand icon. That will
turn this confusing feature off.
