I use hyperterminal to make my dialup connections. I've just gotten
call waiting and I know I have to disable it before making my
connection.

I can't figure out how.

Call your telephone company and ask.
Google/some Internet search.
Ask friends.

I know a common way is dialing *70 first. Putting that into a number you
are dialing by computer would be:

*70,
(asterisk 7 0 comma)
