I found my own solution!
I inserted a new Section Break before the first one - turning the pages from
Portrait to Lanscape, then I deleted the 'old' first section break, then I
could delete the last section break without messing up the Landscape pages.
I think this document was created in WordPerfect many years ago, hence the
section-break confusion!
