How do I delete protected registry keys?

I am attempting to strip all Symantec programs and registry entries
from my system. The only problem I'm having is "Legacy" keys, such as
this one:

LEGACY_CCEVENTMGR
This is the Symantec Event Manager key

There are another 1/2 dozen besides this one! When I attempt to
delete this key using RegEdit, the system will not let me. I've also
tried this is Protected Mode with no luck.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Right-click on the key and give Everyone full access. Now you can delete
it. On some of those Legacy-type keys you might also have to take
ownership. Look at the Advanced button.

The best procedure would have been to go to the Norton (Symantec) site -
download the Norton uninstaller and follow directions.

This was the first thing I tried, it left literally 100 files and over
1,000 entried in the registry!
