I have Outlook 2003 and there is a large hotmail email in my outbox that I am
trying to delete, but it refuses to budge, indeed it appears to keep sending
an email to the recipient every few minutes according to the sent box.

The responses I've seen in here seem to lead in the right direction but I
was trying to follow the one about creating / changing the .pst file and it's
not completely clear, the options I am led to are diferent to those as
described. Can someone break it down more clearly for me.

In the majority of cases, clicking File>Work Offline, then stopping and
restarting Outlook will allow you to delete the message. Creating a new PST
is the last resort, although it's guaranteed to work. See this:

Brian

I was following the instructions - File/New/Open Outlook Data file - It then
gave me Office Outlook Personal Folders file as 1 option (of 2) which I
selected, and gave it a name of Personal Folders(1). A new box then opens to
create the folder - OK that - and the folder appears in Outlook.

Then Tools / Accounts and a box opens with View or Change existing accounts
as an option - then what?

Outlook \File \Work Offline. After selecting Work Offline close Outlook. Then open Outlook while still Offline and Delete the offending email.

I had tried that before and it didn't work, but I tried again and followed
another idea - moving the email into the draft folder - then deleting it -
SUCCESS!!!!!

Many Thanks

I've had this problem for a few days now but the thing is that when I open Outlook2003 I can't click any button as it's stuck and "Not Responding". Could any one tell me how to solve this problem?

Regards
Sal.

Then you make the new PST your delivery location, stopping and restarting
Outlook after you do. That will populare the new PST with new default
folders. The Outbox will of necessity be empty. You can then copy the
contents of the old PST's folders to the new folders.
