How do i delete an attachment, but leave its name for reference?

Well, if you're editing the message anyways, by deleting the attachment,
just add text to the message stating that it originally had an attachment
of name XXXXX?

Either type it in the message after you have removed it or use an attachment
processing addin such as;
http://addins.howto-outlook.com/sperry_attachsave
If you decide to order use BH93RF24 to get a discount.

If that doesn't solve your issue, you'd have to use the body to specify your
configuration and clarify your request.
