How do I create a rule with a pattern match for the subject?

I have an automated system that sends me emails on its status. The subject
line has some phrases which are consistant between messages but the rest of
the subject varies depending on circumstances. The rules I've created with
just the consistant phrases don't work. How can I create a rule that can
math only part of the subject line?

Are you sure you built the rule correct? It should find parts of the
subject.
