How do I create the Desktop icon in the Quick Launch Task Bar?

The only way that I know of adding an icon to the quick launch bar is to
either drag an existing desktop icon down to the task bar or if there isn't
one pre-existing on the desktop then make a shortcut to your program onto
your desktop then drag it down.

right click empty area of taskbar > go to toolbars > choose quick launch

I have attached an icon to this message just place this file in your quick
launch toolbar

The op is using the web interface (cdo reader) for this newsgroup and the
cdo viewer does not do attachments.

but cdo won't do it.
