I don't know if you were using Windows Movie Maker to help you burn
your PowerPoint to CD.
If yes, you can click here to get the details about how to do it:
http://www.ppt-to-video.com/knowledg...o-dvd.html#105
It also introduces some other ways to burn PowerPoint to DVD/CD.

Do you create the presentation on your computer and burn it on your
computer too?

It is recommended that to put all the sounds file and video file in
the same folder then reinsert the sound into PowerPoint before you
package it to CD.

If you want to burn it to a playable CD, PPT2DVD can retain all
sounds, animations and video in the PowerPoint.

You can download the free trial version from here:

Hi - when I do this I actually embed the sound into the presentation - I
actually use my mp3 music and trick powerpoint into thinking it is a .wav
file (I do this to keep the file size as small as possible because I email a
lot of powerpoint shows as attachments.)

To do the music conversion I am using cdex (free program)

Your music probably did not play because you linked the music rather than
embed.
