I am looking for the programmatic details of copying
a file to new one.

The catch is that the source file is non-compound
and the destination file must be compound.

What I am trying to do is to add a set of custom properties
to an existent PDF file, and after a lot of experimenting
I have arrived to the conclusion (can somebody confirm or
deny this?) that you cannot convert an existent file from
non-compound to compound. You have to create a new one.
Thanks a lot for your kind assistance,

-Ramon F Herrera
