Is it only the computer name that has the single-label domain name?
This is fixable without DCPROMO if the domain name as seen in AD Users &
Computers is a multi-labeled name. A script is available that will correct
the Primary DNS suffix to match the DNS domain name, the script template is
available from this KB article:
