I need to change the registration of number of an XP VM, is there a
simple way to do this?. The situation is that I've created a VM using the
registration number of my copy of XP, now I need to re-register it using
a registration number that belongs to a client of mine.

You mean Product Key?

The Genuine Advantage Product Key Update Tool is only valid for
users attempting to change their current non-genuine Product Key
to a genuine COA sticker or genuine Product Key - all without a reinstall!
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Link...46&clcid=0x409

That may work fine for you - although I have no idea what version your
Windows XP is. ;-)
