How do I change my settings to have an email link me to a website

How do I reset my microsoft outlook so that when I receive an email with a
link in it I can click on the link and be directed to that website or link?

Outlook does that by default. What happens when you click the link? In
what folder does the message containing the link reside? In what format is
the message (open the message, click Format and see what's checked)?
