How do I change an excel file from temp. to permanent

I created a spreadsheet on excel which was working fine. Suddenly, it
changed from a permanent file to a temp. file and i can't open it. I want it
to be saved as a regular file that I can open as usual. I did save it on my
flashdrive and it opens from that, but still says it is a temp. file. What
can I do???
