This mornin', I made a mistake that caused my system to see my usual USB
connected external hard drive as the same letter as when I have my camera's
SD card plugged into my printer.

I've already gone through the pain in the tail of chagin' ev'rything so that
all my programs look for "G" instead of "F" when they look for somethin' on
the external HD.

For future reference, if the external drive letter gets changed by my system
again, how do I change it back to what I want it to be?

Right-click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management > right-click
the desired drive/partition > Change Drive letter and paths.... (You
cannot re-assign a drive letter that is already in use.)

If the letter youd like to set to a device is already asigned to one (wrong
letter),
then 1st,you must uninstall or disable the device the letter its on
now,device
mgr.Once thru disabling in device reboot pc,in xp,run, type:diskmgmt.msc
In msc,L.click the device, options, change letter/path,the letter is now
available.

No you don't, you simply have to release the letter by assigning a
different letter to the device, unless of course the device it the boot
volume, you can't change the boot volume's drive letter.
