I would like to make Firefox the default browser, so that when I click on a
link that someone emails me, the link will open up in Firefox. Is there a way
to do that?

Open Firefox and click on Tools at the top of the window.
Select Options from the menu.
On the Main page, look in the System Defaults section and hit the Check Now
button.
Click Yes when asked if you want to make Firefox your default browser.
Click OK.

Note: You can also configure the default web browser in Control Panel -> Add or
Remove Programs -> Set Program Access and Defaults -> Custom.
