How do I change auto font clr back to black; nothing seems 2 work

My automatic font color changed to tan and it won't reset although I have
gone through and made sure that Arial 10 black is my default font. Despite
this, when I open up a new e-mail, tan is my default font and I have to
manually re-set. It has also affected my signature block, which now also
appears in tan.
