How Do I Capture DVD Still Video

I tried over 20 software programs none worked.I had one that did but my
puter crashed and I lost it,but I cant remember the name I only had it two
days.Anyone know of a software that takes stills of dud player.I have win 98
se.Thanks.

One problem I found with trying to screen capture is a setting in the
viewer program. If you try to cap MS Player, for example, you might get a
black screen. On some computers, the 'acceleration' control needs to be
disabled in the player options/preferences. Also, the 'overlay' settings
need to be un-checked in the player options/preferences.

The overlay setting is in some other viewers, but not all viewers. If your
DVD viewer has an overlay setting, try turning it off or unchecking it in
the options/preferences, and then try your screencapping.
