Well, there's a few possibilities.
1) Tools - Rules and Alerts. Look for any rules that might be set up to do
an autoreply.
2) Tools - Out of Office. If you aren't on an Exchange Server, that's not
it.
3) Check your mail provider's web based access.
A few things to consider: What's at the beginning of the subject line of
the OOF message? Are the messages showing up in your Sent Items? If
someone gets your 'random' oof reply, if they resend the exact same message,
do they get it again?
