And quite possibly neither of those functions or other functions use in
concert with those two functions. As you said, the appropriate method
depends on what the data are and perhaps the regularity (or not) of the
cash flows.
To the OP: Please specify the nature of the data that you are dealing
with. A short concrete numerical example is most likely to ensure an
applicable response. I would have responded to you directly, but I do
not see your original posting in Google Groups :-(.
