I'm currently using I.E. 8 and Outlook 2007 w/SP1
No matter what options I use for "Trust" I do not see pictures in the email
message body. Are there other options or settings which control the contents
of the message body?

Are the images embedded but display as red x's or are they attachments?

Outlook doesn't display attachments inline - it never has. If the message
has embedded images, such as you'll find in HTML, then they will display
within the message.

See http://www.slipstick.com/mail1/inline.asp for alternate methods that
should meet your needs.

If its HTML and you get red x's where the image should be, see
http://www.slipstick.com/problems/redx.asp

The images show as boxes around adds, promotions, signatures, logos etc. I
have a second PC that has I.E. 7 and Outlook 2007 running on it where I do
get the red 'x' showing and contents of the other boxes are OK. Both systems
have the XP Professional operating system running. I'm thinking it may be a
bug in I.E. 8 or a setting, though I've compared both systems and believe
they are they same.

Hi! I am now experiencing exactly the same problem. I am using Vista, IE 8
and Outlook 2007. It HAS worked on this machine before but not since I had
to reinstall to Factory settings. I also have a problem inserting pictures or
Clip Art Captions, All i get is a line around the box where the image should
show. If I right click it and then slelect 'Edit Picture' then it will
appear and display when sent. All offers of help gratefully received!
