My in box is over 11,000 messages and i want to archive the older or sent
messages. I have done it previously but I never was able to review the
information again.

What do I need to do to reduce the number but keep it available should i
need to refer to them?

Within OL, you simply open the archive, its just another set of personal
folders. File>Open>Data File.....browse to location

You can leave it open, within OL

The default folder Outlook uses for archiving is very well hidden, you can
search your drive for *.pst to find them, or just pick another folder, like
my documents or something easy to access, then open as per previous response

True; excepting File>Open>Data File should automatically open the default
location, just as scanpst does, to select the file
