Hi;

I have two DNS servers in W2K server platform (DNS1 and DNS2) and third DNS
server in WIN2003 server platform. Those two DNS1 and DNS2 suddenly cannot
do query, therefore all my email sent by smtp server stucked in queue.

I tried to place my ISP's DNS server as forwarder but still no luck.
However; if I place my DNS server ip into the TCP/IP properties as Primary
DNS and Secondary DNS, I can do query through my ISP's DNS and the email can
be delivered out. I do not see any suspicious event in event viewer.

However; my third DNS server (Win 2003 server) has no problem to do dns
query. Therefore I have no clue to figure out what's wrong.

Any help?

I found that if I uncheck "Disable Recursion", my two DNS servers can back
to do dns query. Suppose, the feature of disable recursion is used to
improve the DNS server security, why no query done if I check this box.

When you disable recursion a DNS server can only answer authoritatively,
meaning it must have the zone.
