Dear all,

I own my Small Business Server 2000 and just upgraded from a SBS 4.5.
The upgrade process seems under DC Promote, it was hanging "waiting for DNS"
then I found out DNS Server was set to manual and I start it. DC Promote
success so far, but unfortunately I forget to set DNS Server start
automatically. Then the SBS upgrade wizard run completely so far.

Afterward I found my DNS Server can't resolute any internet host even I
check the Forwarder. Is that the problem due to my set the full dns name as
"mydomain.local" ?

-david

Set the DNS service to Automatic.

Are you able to enable a forwarder to your ISP?

No this won't stop DNS resolving external names.

It will strip signature out and more

Keep a back up of your OE settings and folders with
OEBackup:
