Hi,

I need DNS help with a website. I am attempting to access
www.joywilliams.org, but I cannot access it from home, as I get the standard
"Cannot find server or DNS error." Here is my info...

OS: Windows XP SP2 with all updates (Windows firewall off)
IE: 6.0, fully updated
I am running behind a router.

I currently use my ISPs primary and secondary DNS servers, however I have
attempted using a couple of others for testing purposes...but they don't work
either. I have also tried flushing my DNS.

Since the website does not use SSL, I'm not sure what else to try. I can
access the site from work, but not from home. I also was able to access the
site until a few weeks ago, but I don't know of any changes I made to the
system.

I run Adaware SE Personal and Spybot religiously, and I use Panda AV and
scan often. My computer seems to be quite free of viruses and spyware.

Any thoughts?

What does your nslookup show for that name?
If it isn't finding it and giving you an IP address you have an explanation
for your symptom. Take DNS out of the picture then.
E.g. use nslookup elsewhere to find out what the IP address is
and then insert that entry into your HOSTS file.

<example>
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: joywilliams.org
Address: 64.202.167.192
Aliases: www.joywilliams.org
</example>

BTW telnet 80 shows that there is a server which responds to the
domain name as well as the website alias so if your DNS knows
about it but not the alias using the domain name instead could be
a usable workaround.

Good luck
