DNS/domain name change

1) Is using a domain name with the *.local format (as
opposed to a 3 letter suffix as in .net) a problem for MS
DNS?

2) If I have only one W2k DC with a domain name such as
co.local and I'd like to change the domain to say co.net,
is that possible in AD or whatever? Will I have to
change all the workstations after that manually to the
new domain or can that be done remotely?

Thanks!

J.G.

It is not possible to rename a Win2k AD Domain.
You would have to demote and re-promote with a different name, or build
another domain and migrate the accounts.
