Hello,

I needed to change the dns configuration on a domain
controller. Now we have dns name different then the
domain. I found a fix on website kb822402, I downloaded
it and when I installed it, it created 2 .exe files.
First one intalled something but the other one self-
extracted 4 files, pdb and bdg. I really don't know what
I need to do with it.

Someone has idea to solve my problem:-)

Thanks and regards

Johanne

I've never seen this one before it must be a rare situation.
Hmm, can you post the domain name and your ipconfig /all?
I'm not sure you are looking at the correct article. This artcle covers the
NetBIOS name of the computer being different that the host name in DNS I
believe.
Are you sure you don't have a disjointed namespace, which is when the DNS
domain name does not match the Computer DNS suffix? This is a lot more
common.

Hello All,

The hotfix.exe should have extracted and replaced the two files in
question.
Perform a search on the server and check the file version to make sure.
