Actually, BIND 4.97 is the absolute minimum, but you'll need to manually
create the SRV records if you were to soley use that for DNS. Suggested -
recmmended to use mimimally BIND 8.2.3, since it supports dynamic updates
and incremental zone transfers.
You can use W2k DNS for AD, which works with no problems (and usually the
vote by many BIND admins because of the seamless intergration with WIndows
APIs, including the DHCP APIs for when DHCP updates DNS for your clients),
and possibly use your 4.x (depending if it's at least 4.97) as a secondary.
