Hi, I have been using SQLDMO objects to reference MS SQL. However, I see that
it is recommended not to write new code using this library
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms131540.aspx). Unfortunitely, no
mention was made of the object library that is now recommended.

Can you recommend a replacement that is supported in future versions of MS
SQL?

Many thanks,
Jonathan

Hi,
I think even Microsoft cant say for sure what will be in future. I am also
using SQLDMO, it still works with SQL Server 2008.
Other alternatives (if we are talking on Access) - ADO and DAO with
pass-through queries

Alex, thanks for your response. I am using SQLDMO with SQL server with the
specific purpose of referencing server instances and database collections.
The prompt for this post is that a client has just installed SQL server2008
express on vista and I was not able to reference SQLDMO objects.
